Characteristics and Applications
Oil-based fracturing fluid additives include three types of additives: phosphoric ester aluminum thickeners, activators, and breakers. This additive series is the second-generation product of oil-based fracturing fluid additives. Oil-based fracturing fluids have the following significant characteristics:
The thickeners and activators are both oil-soluble liquids that are easily dispersed in oil and can thicken oil immediately at room temperature. Compared with the current thickener system used, it has the advantages of convenient construction and low energy consumption.
The thickeners and activators have low solidification points, so there is no need to heat them up for dissolution when used in winter, which improves construction safety and reduces the risk of fire accidents.
The oil-based gel produced has good temperature resistance, shear resistance, and sand suspension performance. When the amount of thickener is 2%, the maximum viscosity of the crude oil gel produced at 70℃ and 170s-1 can reach 145mPa·s, and the gel viscosity is greater than 90mPa·s after being sheared for 50 minutes under these conditions.
The gel has small filtrate loss, and the reference filtrate coefficient is 3.69×10-4m/min (70℃).
The gel can be completely broken, and 8-24 hours after breaking, the viscosity of the breaking fluid can reach that of the crude oil, with low damage to the formation.

Recommended Dosage
For oil-based fracturing fluids, recommended formulation: 1.8-2.2% thickener, 0.8-0.2% activator, and 1.0-1.5% demulsifier. Adjust the specific dosage according to the base oil used. First, put the base oil in the preparation tank, add the thickener and stir until it is completely and evenly dissolved. Then add the activator, stir and mix well, and add the demulsifier at the sand mixing location during construction.

Transportation and Storage
Store in a dry, ventilated, and cool place. The shelf life of thickener is 6 months, activator is 1 year, and demulsifier is 2 years. Transportation should be carried out according to routine chemical transportation procedures.
